More Than Numbers: Every Story Matters

Numbers help tell our story, but they don’t tell the whole story.

Since 2016, Healing in Arts has welcomed more than 22,000 participants into creative spaces where they are seen, heard, and valued. Through workshops, public art, and creative experiences, many people—including veterans, trauma survivors, justice-involved youth, and children—have discovered hope, connection, and belonging.

Behind every art project is a person.

A veteran told us, “The art helped me get out of bed in the morning.” A young woman in Girls Court found the confidence to share her story through a self-portrait. A refugee child painted a portrait expressing the memories left behind and the hope to come.

These stories remind us that the goal of our work extends beyond art. Our work is about creating opportunities for healing, friendships, and renewal.

Every workshop begins with a blank canvas. After filling the space with creativity, people feel seen and heard in a new way.

Art is a bridge to healing.
