Confidential support, available 24/7. Healing in Arts provides trauma-informed art experiences focused on creativity and connection, not clinical treatment. Survivors seeking trauma care are encouraged to contact qualified professionals.
Participants create in trauma-informed workshops where safety, choice, and respect allow healing to unfold naturally through painting, mixed media, writing, and personal expression.
Art provides a gentle way to express difficult emotions, rediscover identity, and rebuild confidence without pressure to explain experiences or relive painful memories through words.
Each workshop encourages hope, connection, and renewed confidence. Many participants continue creating, supporting others, and discovering new possibilities as healing continues beyond the program.

Healing often continues long after the workshop ends. One participant who once sat quietly on the edge of the room later began donating red jeans so another survivor could experience the same hope she found. Others describe feeling seen for the first time in years. Every workshop creates space where survivors rediscover dignity, rebuild trust, and recognize they are more than what happened to them. Their courage becomes an invitation for someone else’s healing journey.
She came only to watch. She sat with her arms folded, unsure if she belonged. Years of trauma had convinced her she wasn’t worthy of being seen. Then she watched the other girls laughing while they created. She finally asked if she could join. Before long, she was laughing too. They had all experienced things no one should ever have to face, but for a little while, they found hope together.
Red Jeans Redemption is a Healing in Arts project where survivors anonymously transform red jeans into powerful works of art. Through paint, writing, and mixed media, each pair shares a story of courage, healing, and hope. Public art installations honor survivor voices, inspire compassion, and remind communities that healing is possible.
No one heard my childhood cries. The art project gave me a safe place to express my feelings.
The workshop allowed us to use paint and color to express our hurts and life journey on canvas.
These photographs reflect safe spaces where survivors create, connect, and rediscover hope. Every image represents courage, dignity, healing, and the strength found in community.
When put together end-to-end-to-end, three straight lines form a triangle shape. Triangles can represent the union of body, mind, and spirit. In Christianity, the triangle depicts the triune God. For session one of our Three Straight Lines project, participants selected three words that represented different aspects of their lives. Next, each person painted a visual …
