Discover hope through creativity
Many veterans carry experiences that are difficult to explain. Our trauma-informed workshops provide a safe place to create, process emotions, build meaningful connections, and discover hope through art without pressure, expectations, or the need to explain everything.

Veterans Crisis Line
Confidential crisis support is available to veterans, regardless of VA enrollment. Healing in Arts provides trauma-informed art experiences focused on creativity and connection, not clinical treatment. Veterans seeking trauma care are encouraged to contact qualified professionals.

Workshops bring veterans together to create alongside others who understand military life. Shared experiences foster friendships, encouragement, belonging, and a renewed sense of purpose through community.
Every workshop becomes another step forward. Veterans discover purpose through creativity, build lasting friendships, and often continue creating, encouraging others, and finding renewed hope beyond the workshop.

Healing doesn’t end when the workshop is over. Many veterans return month after month because they have found a community that understands them. Some continue creating art at home. Others mentor new participants or proudly exhibit their work. One veteran shared, “Art helped quiet the noise in my mind.” Another reduced her medication after discovering renewed purpose through creativity. Every workshop reminds veterans they are seen, valued, and never have to carry their burdens alone.
“When I came home, the battle didn’t end. The memories, pain, and invisible wounds came home with me. Through Healing in Arts, I found purpose again. Creating art gave me hope, and over time, I was able to reduce my medication and keep moving forward.” –Veteran Participant
Healing in Arts partners with schools, nonprofits, veteran organizations, churches, and community groups to create collaborative art experiences that foster hope, connection, and belonging. Together, participants transform individual stories into meaningful public artwork that inspires conversation, strengthens communities, and reminds every person they are seen, valued, and capable of making a lasting difference.

WOOD TV 8 covered our Art of Resilience ArtPrize 2026 exhibit at Veterans Memorial Park, and the story was picked up by Yahoo News.
Six years of creating alongside veterans has taught us that what changes lives is often not what happens on the canvas, but what happens around the table.
A veteran who did not want to participate found that the chance to create, be seen, and be encouraged became a place to begin again.
At its heart, Art of Resilience is about belonging. It creates a welcoming community where veterans know they are seen,…
