Who We Are

We create art projects that build community, advocate for change, and offer trauma-informed care to empower healing and growth.

Pamela’s Story

One summer, while I visited home with my four children, my dad invited us to help plant hundreds of seedlings. His passion for trees and bringing people together left a lasting impression on me. Years later, as I designed community-based art projects, I saw how creativity, like planting those seedlings, helps individuals flourish and build connections.

In 2016, I founded Healing in Arts to plant seeds of healing through collaborative art. Our donor-funded initiatives empower people of all backgrounds—children with disabilities, teens affected by trafficking, veterans with PTSD, and refugees—using art to restore dignity and possibilities. These interactive projects build community and continue my dad’s legacy of planting something that grows beyond us, inspiring hope and fostering resilience.

When we create art in community, we rediscover the value of each individual.

Our Creative Team

All the members of our art team actively take part in our healing projects by designing, organizing, and facilitating the workshops. Each person—from the board members to the donors to the artists to the local advocates to the volunteers—fills a vital role of equal importance in our collective work.

Explore Partnership Opportunities

Through partnerships, we use art to inspire healing, empower individuals, and celebrate creativity.

Featured Project:

Open Hands

Open Hands is a workshop that empowers students to reflect on their role as global citizens through art. Participants trace their hands on a world map and explore how they can contribute to positive change. This interactive project fosters self-expression, connection, and a sense of responsibility, promoting healing and growth through creative expression.
